Our proposal for the NVC resolves the opposing forces of Newark's urban fabric and its new city park along the river by introducing a "zig zag" form that creatively interlocks the city with the new park. The exterior structural rhythm varies due to these indentations and the resulting interior spaces are either compressed or dimpled accordingly.
The NVC is covered in a solar tent that provides all the electrical needs for the center and park and provides shade over a new entrance plaza. A new urban space that reflects the direction of the city of Newark
