folded house
Located about an hours drive from Portland, this home sits in the rolling wheat fields of central Oregon with majestic views of the Cascade Range. The project takes its inspiration from the ever changing “folds” between these fields. The designs’ bent plan and folded roof optimize and frame specific views from this site. Clad in wood shingles, the house changes “luminosity” depending on the seasonal patterns of the wheat fields maturing from green to yellow and back to the dark brown of the soil.
